National Fellowship & Scholarship for Higher Education of Scheduled Tribe Students

The Ministry of Tribal Affairs has announced the opening of the application portal for the “National Fellowship & Scholarship for Higher Education of Scheduled Tribe Students” for the year 2024-25. This scheme aims to support ST students pursuing a Ph.D. by providing financial assistance through the National Fellowship (NFST).

Key Details:

·       Eligibility:

1. The applicant belongs to Schedule Tribe (ST) category and should have passed the post-Graduation examination with minimum 55% .

2. The D.O.B of the applicant should not before 01/07/1988.

3. The Applicant should get admission for regular and full time Ph.D. Courses in University / Academic Institutions under the following category: –

  1.          Universities/Institutes/Colleges included under section 2(f) or 12(B) or 2(f) and 12(B) of UGC Act.
  2.          Deemed to be Universities included under Section 3 of the UGC Act, 1956 and eligible to receive grants-in-aid from UGC.
  3.          Universities/ Institutes/ Colleges funded by Central/ State Government
  4.           Institutes of National Importance.

4.The applicant should not have taken admission/joined in Ph.D. before 1.4.2020

·        Purpose: Financial support for higher education.
